A farm tech plan is not dissimilar to whole-farm business plan. It will identify the mission and enable you to stay true to that without getting lost in a “sea of technology”. It should encompass the breadth and width of your farm goals and should ensure that it allows you to maintain perspective of the current operation and the vision for the future.
A farm tech plan should acknowledge analysis and goals, the plan to achieve those goals, transition plan and investment. All need to work together in harmony for the long-term success of the operation, and all play a role in keeping it operating into the future.
Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
